This community service activity was motivated by the students' lack of practical skills in analyzing legal scope based on Ushul Fiqh principles. The objective of this activity was to enhance students' legal istinbāṭ (deduction) skills through training on the principles of al-'Ām (general expressions) and takhṣīṣ (specification). The method employed was participatory training, which involved material delivery, practical analysis of scriptural evidence (dalīl), and evaluation. The results of the activity indicated an improvement in students' understanding of the concept of general expressions and their restrictions, as well as an enhanced ability to analyze evidence systematically. Furthermore, students' active participation and critical thinking skills also showed positive development. Thus, this practice-based training proved to be quite effective in improving students' legal istinbāṭ skills and can serve as an alternative, more applicable learning model for Ushul Fiqh instruction.
